Christine Milne

Christine Milne is the current Global Greens Ambassador, former Leader of the Australian Greens 2012-2015, former Leader of the Tasmanian Greens from 1993-1998, first woman to lead a political party in the Tasmanian Parliament (1993), and is an active campaigner to secure ecological sustainability, social justice, peace and participatory democracy everywhere. 

 

 

Session design:

  1. Opening - The audience is invited to ask initial questions to Christine
  2. Christine speaks to us about her autobiography An Activist Life which reflects on her experience in politics and being part of building the Australian Greens since its start in 1972. 
    Questions addressed include:
    -  What is Green politics? 
    -  Why join the Green party and not another party? 
    -  How to practice Green ideology when conflicts arise within the party? 
    -  What's distinctive about Green leadership?
  3. Discussion with all webinar participants, facilitated by Keli Yen, Global Greens Convenor.
