Social Media Curator



Purpose: The Social Media Curator will provide assistance to the Global Greens Marketing and Communications team with sourcing, curating and uploading content across the Global Greens Social Media pages. We want to make our Global Greens social media truly global in its representation and are looking for volunteers from all our Federations. 

Supervision: The Social Media Curator is supervised by the Executive Secretary for the Global Greens.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helping to source, curate, and upload seven articles of interest per week to share amongst the Global Greens network. Our network includes but is not limited to: Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. 
  • For scheduling to function globally, articles and posts need to be uploaded at least 1 week in advance. 
  • Articles of interest could include:
    • Green news stories from reputable local or international news outlets
    • Information about local events, Green Parties campaigns or causes
    • Shared information from local politicians, public figures or influencers in your geographic region
  • Helping to translate information about local events / news into English and/or translating international news from English into local language. 
  • If volunteer has relevant skills, there may also be opportunities to design social media graphics.
  • If volunteer has relevant skills, there may be opportunities to write for our Global Greens Newsletter. 
  • Supporting supervisor on an agreed basis with other allocated tasks from time to time.  

 Volunteer Shifts: 

Estimated time for this volunteer role is 3 hours per week.

 Key Skills: 

  • Relentless curiosity and appetite for news, events and Green influencers
  • An eye for curation and enthusiasm to track interesting stories for our community
  • Graphic Design a big plus
  • Multilingual - English and at least one other language.
  • Reliability
