What's up with the Women's Network?

The Global Greens Women's Network (GGWN) is active and running! While we await the Global Greens and European Green Party joint Congress in Liverpool 2017, to be able to meet in person, we are busy working on Women's Academy webinars and launching a GGWN Mentorship Programme.

Webinars: We held our first webinar on 16 April 2016. Female leaders from each region was invited to share their experiences about challenges women face as Green politicians and how to overcome them. The webinar was a great success and was attended by 30 participants from all Federations.

The next webinar will take place in June. The discussion will be in French this time. Follow the news to register and attend! The Women's Academy will continue to hold regular webinars in English, French and Spanish untill the Congress.

Mentorship programme: We are kickstarting our mentorship programme, which will match Greens women around the world with one another, to build skills and knowledge and to share experiences. We are currently searching for people who are interested in becoming a mentor or a mentee. The next step will be to match the pairs. The pairs will be able to determine the goals and pace of the mentorship relation theirselves, but the Congress will provide an opportunity for the pairs to meet live.

Congress: We have already started planning sessions to take place the Greens 2017 congress in Liverpool. We will have three activities: mentorship workshop, open Women's Cafe space for speeches and a meeting to decide about the network's future organisation and strategy.

How to be involved: Join the network by submitting this form! The GGWN has regular meetings, open to all members, to plan and organise the work of the Network. If you are interested in joining in, you're welcome to do so! The next meeting will take place by Skype on Monday 27th June 2016, at 11 AM UTC. Please fill in the doodle to let us know you will be attending. To follow the Network and to get news of the upcoming meetings, join our Facebook group!
