Recruitment Call for a Global Greens "Communicator"

The Global Greens is looking to recruit a:

Communicator

The Communicator will be responsible for the development, coordination and execution of the Global Greens (GG) internal and external communications work in general and in particular communications promoting the Greens 2017 Congress.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn what is happening in the Green world and to help bring its actors closer together. You will work with Greens globally including the Global Greens Coordination, the Member Parties, Networks, working groups, and other stakeholders in the Global Greens family. The fourth Global Greens Congress in Liverpool in March 2017 will be a highlight.

The Communicator will translate Green policies into messages, visuals, and other means of communication that will reach out to our audience and strengthen the profile of the Global Greens.

Position within the organisation:

The communicator will work under the supervision of the GG Coordinator, be part of the GG Secretariat, and be formally employed by the European Green Party (EGP).

Tasks:

  • Develop an internal and external communications strategy and coordinate its execution
  • Maintain and develop the GG website and database
  • Be responsible for social media communications
  • Draft press releases, news articles and online content
  • Produce the GG Newsletter regularly
  • Help with the organisation of webinars, events and other communication forums
  • Develop the GGs capacity for multilingual translation of content
  • Strengthen the profile of the Global Greens in global media
  • Regularly report to the GG Coordinator

The Communicator should have:

  • English proficiency and good writing skills
  • Strong strategic skills and a pronounced sense of responsibility
  • Experience in Green political communications and the ability to translate political concepts into clear multi-media messages
  • Effectiveness in social media outreach, community building, monitoring and impact assessment
  • Ability to perform within tight deadlines and under stress, while setting clear priorities
  • Ability to work long distance/virtually and irregular hours as required by the project
  • An attitude that is collaborative, industrious, organised, pro-active and output focused.
  • Graphic design skills are desirable
  • Fluency in languages other than English is desirable

Practicalities:

  1. The successful candidate will be based in the Global Greens’ Brussels office, and therefore will need to currently possess the legal ability to work in Europe.
  2. The position is part-time, covering 2 work days (16 hours) per week, with flexible work hours.
  3. The gross monthly remuneration is 1,000 EUR gross per month.

Starting date:

The position would ideally be filled as soon as possible, and will have a three month probation period.

June 30, 2017
