Hope for democracy in Turkey

The candidate for the main opposition party, Ekrem Imamoglu, has won 54% of the vote in the re-run of the Istanbul mayoral elections. Reacting to the win, the co-chair of Green Left Party Eylem Tuncaelli said: “The people have given a clear verdict on the AKP-MHP alliance’s refusal to step down in Istanbul despite their loss in the local elections held in March this year. They must now renounce any attempt to govern against the democratic will of the people.

Green conferencing that’s climate smart

The 5th Global Greens congress will be held jointly with the Asia Pacific Greens Federation (APGF) and hosted by Green Party Korea in Seoul, July 2021. In this sense, Excellency, this interpellation remains the most peaceful form that we ecologists, lovers and environmentalists have found to draw your attention to the need to act to save this forest. However, in case of unsatisfaction, we will be forced to join other forms of demands alongside other social forces so that the Kua forest regains its peace.”

Climate Change Momentum - A Conversation

There’s momentum brewing that we wanted to share with you. It started with conversations between Global Greens facilitated by our incredible convenor Keli Yen. It then solidified as Greens supported one another to send delegates to COP24. It expanded with a Global Greens climate change webinar with 50 attendees from every possible time-zone. And this is coalescing in the formation of a Climate Change Working Group.

The European Elections are 23-26 May 2019. This Webinar will discuss different ways to mobilise the expat vote and why it's important! 

The EU Expat Vote is a part of the Global Greens Democracy Campaign, which aims to increase Green votes among expats (people living outside their country of citizenship).  

The EU Elections are our first case study and our objective is to run these campaigns all around the world at every election!
