Reset the EU: Regain Trust, Rebuild Vision

The European Green Party, in collaboration with of ECOLO and Groen, is hosting “Reset the EU: regain trust, rebuild vision”, taking place on Friday 9 December 2016, 19.30, at the Palais des Beaux Arts, Rue Ravenstein, 23, 1000 Brussels.

At a time in which the world seems increasingly an unstable place, and when the story of Europe seems to be one written in frustration and disunion, our event will give a voice to those who remain optimistic in the European project.

The event will be divided into two parts. In the first, speakers will share their own personal stories with the audience, highlighting how the existence of the European Union played a critical role in their successes, or how the lack of it resulted in their failures, in important issues such as climate, migration, peace and war, jobs and innovation. We are currently finalising the list.

During the second session, Rachel Kyte, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All (to be confirmed), will discuss Europe's global responsibility on fighting climate change, while French writer Raphaël Glucksmann will discuss on the ever changing notion of "European identity", and on how we need to mobilise in order to prevent Europeans from going back to the dark times of divisions and possibly even conflict.

A jazz band will entertain us with their music throughout the evening, and the event will close with a party.

The event will be held in English, French and Dutch, with interpretation in all the mentioned languages provided throughout.
