EGP Gender network meeting

“The Price of inequality – gender equality as democratic and monetary currency”

Gender equality is transversal political priority that we need to examine and apply in different spheres of our work, both internally and externally. Greens can proudly say that we have done a lot to advance women rights, to expand notion of gender equality and profound support mechanisms. However, our societies, our universities, our parliaments, our neighborhoods, our parties, our taxes are still unequal and our Green voices have to be firm, loud and constructive.

As we all know gender equality is not policy to sign, it is principle to apply. Economists proved on different level that price our society is paying for inequality can be clearly measured in monetary units. We, as politicians, also showed that price of inequality can be measured through indicators of democracy. Thus this meeting of EGP Gender network will be devoted to price of inequality that we are paying, both in democratic and monetary currencies.
