Year in Review - GGWN 2017 by Merja Kähkönen

 Original Post

This year has been particularly exciting for us, since we were able to meet in person! The Global Greens Women’s Network (GGWN) held two workshops during the Global Greens Congress, held in Liverpool, UK, in March-April 2017. Together with all of the participants, we developed an Activity Plan for the Network.

GGWN Liverpool (1)GGWN Coordination team elected at Liverpool, UK meetings – spring 2017

As we are a bunch of ambitious women, the list of activities came out to be a long one. We chose communications as our first priority, and are now working on activating our blog as well as this newsletter you’re currently reading! Our second priority is fundraising, for which we have established a working group.

Next year we aim to work on these priorities, as well as some new ones. If you have a burning desire to change the world for a greener and more equal place, the GGWN is the place for you to do it! We meet regularly online to plan our activities. The meetings are open for every Green woman, so don’t hesitate to join!

The Global Greens Women’s Network (GGWN) was first established in a Global Greens Congress in Dakar, Senegal, 2012. We aim to bring together Green women around the world to work together for a better future for our planet.

Wishing you a green and happy holiday season, and looking forward to collaborating in 2018!
