Eastern African Greens Federation Climate Change and Energy workshop

The two days Eastern Africa Greens Federation - EAGF - Women Network workshop at Fairway Hotel, Kampala has officially been opened by Thomas Kentos Bakyayita the EAGF President with a call on the women politicians to work as teams, build self confidence, coordinate, communicate and practice participatory democracy in building their ground networks in order to gain their rights, recognition and protection.

The workshop theme will focus on what roles female politicians can play in building democratic societies looking at challenges they may face and joint solutions to them.

Funding for the event is from Green Forum - Sweden and facilitators include Chris Ormalm - Green Forum, Jusup Vesna from European Green Party and moderated by Dorothy Nalubega the EAGF Women League Chairperson.

Participants have come from the 4 Green parties of East Africa (Ecological Party of Uganda, Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, Green Congress of Kenya and Burundi Green Movement) who will later join the Climate Change and Energy training scheduled for 7th & 8th April

The Eastern African Greens Federation two day Climate Change and Energy workshop and fully funded by the Swedish Green Forum is underway. Facilitators Chris Ormalm, Vesna Jusup, Fatoumata Boussim, Martin Ogindo is in progress.

An Action plan will be drawn to outline activities and tasks the four Green Parties in the Eastern African region will start up with to address the challenge and effects of Climate Change.
