Visiting Senegal

Senegal lies on Africa's west coast, with wide sandy beaches fronting the Atlantic Ocean, deserts to the north and tropical forests to the south. It has 11 million people; French is the offical language and other languages include Wolof, Malinké, Pulaar and Diola. The primary religion is Islam.

Visitors from most non-European countries will need a visa; it is wise to check the requirements well in advance.
